AMNH Spotlight on Women Working in Science

In honor of International Women’s Day, the American Museum of Natural History profiled two of their scientists currently on scientific expeditions in the Antarctic. I think they should be called hardcore lady-types.

Estefanía Rodríguez is doing fieldwork off the coast of Antarctica, studying the fascinating varieties of anemones and other sea life.

Abby West is looking for fossils on Antarctica’s James Cook Island group as part of an international research team for the Antarctic Peninsula Paleontology Project.
